Creating an Intentional Life

You know how people say, “I’m just so busy”? Like it’s a badge of honor?

I wore that badge too, for years. My calendar was full, my phone never left my hand, and I answered messages faster than I answered prayer. But slowly, that “full life” started to feel more like a fog—noisy, fast-moving, and a little bit lonely.

So I made a change. And if you’re here, maybe you’re craving that change too.

Here’s the thing:

A full life isn’t always a meaningful one. Full can mean cluttered. Loud. Distracted. But intentional? That’s different. Intentional means you chose it. You made space for what really matters—faith, family, quiet moments, eye contact, deep breaths. And yes, stillness.

Stillness Matters—Because You Do

The world will keep spinning fast. Your phone will keep dinging. Your to-do list will keep growing. But you don’t have to keep up with all of it. You can say no. You can turn off the screen, step outside, and breathe.

Sometimes, the most powerful thing you can do is… nothing.

Not scroll. Not reply. Not multitask.

Just be still.

Psalm 46:10 doesn’t say, “Keep grinding and know that I am God.” It says, “Be still.” It’s a command, not a suggestion. And I think we forget that.

What Does Intentional Living Look Like?

Let me be honest. I don’t have it all figured out. I still reach for my phone more than I should. I still struggle to pause. But I’ve learned a few things that help, and maybe they’ll help you too:

  • Start your morning tech-free.
  • Even if it’s just ten minutes, grab a coffee, sit with your Bible, and let that be the first voice you hear.
  • Create screen-free spaces.
  • The dinner table. The bedroom. The car ride home. Anywhere you can reconnect with people instead of pixels.
  • Make room for boredom.
  • It sounds weird, but that space—where you’re not stimulated—is often where creativity and clarity show up.
  • Use Do Not Disturb.
  • Seriously. Set it and forget it. Let your people know you’re not ignoring them—you’re choosing to be fully present somewhere else.
  • Ask this often: Is this helping me grow?
  • Your apps, shows, and habits, are they feeding your faith?
  • Building your relationships? Or just numbing something?

It’s Not About Perfection

Some days you’ll scroll too long. Some nights you’ll binge-watch instead of read Scripture. It’s okay. This isn’t about guilt—it’s about grace.

You’re allowed to change the pace of your life. You’re allowed to build one that’s slow and sacred. One where conversations matter more than comments. Where presence is more than a status. Where you don’t just go through the motions but actually live.

Let’s Do This Together

If you’re tired of being tired…

If your soul feels noisy…

If your days feel busy but not full of meaning…

You’re not alone. I started this blog as a space for people like us. People who are done with the noise and ready for the quiet. People who want to be led by faith—not by feeds. People who know there’s more to life than being plugged in all the time.

Stillness matters because you matter.

So here’s my encouragement: slow down. Unplug. Look around. Listen. Be still—not just once in a while, but as a way of life.

It won’t always be easy. But it will be worth it.

From my quiet corner to yours,

Bea
