Why Digital Minimalism and Tech-Life Balance Matter More Than Ever

Let’s be honest, most of us are feeling a little worn out by our screens.

From the moment we wake up, there’s a nonstop stream of notifications, emails, messages, and updates. It’s easy to lose hours scrolling without even realizing it. In fact, the average person spends 6 to 8 hours a day on screens outside of work. That’s a full-time job on top of your full-time job (and it’s no wonder so many people feel overwhelmed, burned out, and constantly distracted).

If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone. I’ve felt it too.

That’s why I’ve been drawn to the idea of digital minimalism. This a simple, intentional approach to using technology without letting it run our lives. It’s not about tossing out every device or disappearing from the internet. It’s about taking a step back and asking: Is this helping me, or is it just more noise?

Digital minimalism is about clearing out the clutter—deleting apps that don’t serve you, setting screen time limits, and being more mindful about how and when we use tech. It’s about making space for the things that truly matter: our faith, our families, and the quiet moments we so often rush past.

I started this blog as a little corner of the internet where we can explore these ideas together. A place to breathe, reflect, and figure out how to live more intentionally in a world that’s constantly “on.”

It’s not about rejecting technology—it’s about redefining our relationship with it.

Let’s unplug from the noise and plug into what’s real.

From my quiet corner to yours,

Bea
